Introduction
The Wood-elves are the leading elven race on the Lunatara Continent, since after wiping out the Dark-elves, the are the only major elven race left. They are protectors of nature and follow their leader, the god Lumati, in a mission to purge the lands of the evil Undead. Their capital is called Sinaya and they rule over the realm of Lunatara. Other notable places are Celestem, the defensive outpost towards Niflheim, and Raven's Point, final defensive post towards the neutral fields before the Razor Dunes.
History
The Wood-elves are the oldest race on Terra and their role in the world has been huge. Because of this they see themselves as superior to other races and only ally with them if they see they could earn something great from it.
The birth of the World
At the dawn of Terra, Lumati god of nature, decided that he would create a people more intelligent than the animal life Auriell had already created. These creatures became a copy of himself and his two siblings, Zeni and Kronos. He called them the Elves and as they evolved they split into many separate groups who evolved into getting their own powers and features as the years went by. The Wood-elves stayed with their god and tended to the nature, while the Dark-elves who had gained the dark skin of Lumati's sister began worshiping her and moved to other lands far away on the Lunatara Continent.
Act of Jealousy
Kronos, who had always compared himself to his brother were now jealous as Lumatis powers over nature were able to create life while his powers over time and space did not have the power to do so. He gained the help of the Dark Soul, whose real name had been lost in time, and together they worked to destroy the elves in silence. They gave them the ability to feel anger and hate and this quickly spread across all the elven races except the Longbreed who were strangely unaffected and in an attempt to get away from their newly made enemies they hid themselves in the large cave system known as the Dark Deep. With this new feeling, the Wood-elves and the Dark-elves began fighting against each other.
The Elven Wars
During the beginning of the Elven Wars the Wood-elves were at a disadvantage. The only thing keeping the Dark-elves from attacking them were the great defense of the capital Sinaya. However, to their great fortune, the Atlanteans emerged from the sea and after tried to get a friendly solution to the war. They failed however and they decided to join the Wood-elves and create the Holy Order. Shortly after the Atlanteans had joined both the Dwarves and Halflings joined the order. The Wood-elves now had a great advantage over the Dark-elves. With a final strike the last of the Dark-elves where pushed back to their capital. After a long epic battle between Lumati and Kronos the Wood-elves emerged as winners and started the Dark-elf Holocaust.
The Dark-elf Holocaust
After the war was won the wood elven elders decided that all of the remaining Dark-elves would be hunt down and killed, even innocent women and children, to pay for their crime against nature. This order was done swiftly and despite their effort to hide every last one of the Dark-elves had now been killed by their old enemy. However after the Dark-elves had been killed the Dark Soul, who had now become totally insane after loosing his powers as a god, used his last strength to resurrect Kronos and his fellow Dark-elves. However his powers was not strong enough to return them totally alive and they returned as the new Undead legion.
Threat of the Undead
The Undead spread quickly, growing stronger with each of their enemies killed, and soon their new realm Kronopia where one of the strongest forces on Terra. Ever since that day the Wood-elves and the Holy Order have done everything in their powers to stop the them.
Notable Wood Elves
- Eromion Spellsong - Head of the Spellsong family, the most noble of houses in Sinaya.
- Althiril Spellsong - Best friend of the Chosen Talant. Exiled from his homelands after Altheia's death.
- Altheia Spellsong - The sister of Althiril, who died at a young age on a patrol to scout the dark elven forces.
Appearance
The Wood-elven facial features are more angular and defined, with almost almond shaped eyes and also pointed ears. They are slightly shorter than the average human races and tend to be more slender as well as graceful. They do not grow hair anywhere on their body except for on their head and the color on the hair can vary greatly from a light blond to a dark black and even to odd colors as dark green, orange or red. Their skin is most often slightly tanned, as they keep much to the sun, and they often keep themselves groomed. Wood-elves are thought of as more beautiful than other races. They do not grow weaker or loose their youthful appearance when growing old.
Culture
The entire Wood-elven culture evolves around the nature and what they believe to be the natural order. Their leaders have since long ago been the Wood-elven Council, who are greatly experienced with the way of the nature and their decisions decide how their entire race evolves and expands their lands.
Relations
As the wood elves have always seen themselves as a superior race to others, they have chosen to keep as far away from other races as possible. However they have created an alliance between themselves, the Atlanteans, the Dwarves and the Halflings known as the Holy Order. Even though they keep the other races away from their realm they have a pretty neutral relationship with most other races. Their enemies include the Kelthaz, Aerial Elves, the Black Blood races and also their archenemies the Undead.
Faith
The Wood-elves almost exclusively worships Lumati who where their creator and god of the nature that they strive to protect. Other gods are not prohibited, except for Kronos, however, and while it is rare worshipers of the other gods exist amongst the Wood-elves.
Technological Status
The Wood-elves are fairly technological, though they tend to try to avoid using machines to be as natural as they can. They are good at working rare metals and weapons and armors made from these metals are quite common amongst the Wood-elven ranks.
Warfare and Tactics
In battle the Wood-elves fight using their famous Elven fighting style. They move constantly, as if they were dancing, and avoid any incoming attacks while looking for opportunities to strike at their enemies. To gain advantage in their strikes the wood elves uses nature to their advantage and ambushes their enemies as often as possible. As they are used to the nature they easily find favorable grounds to give them further advantage in battle.
Statistics
Any Wood-elven character works great at roles where they have to use their quickness. Also they are strong with magic. Their small charisma bonus also makes them a favorable choice for a group leader, though not overly important.
Racial Abilities
Soul Vision
Elves have the ability to see the soul of creatures. When the ability is activated the elf sees in an inverted color view. Beings with souls are shown as a black silhouette with a bright flash in different color depending on their alignment. Red means evil, yellow means neutral and green is good. If the soul is a elemental he will leave a trail in the color that represents their magic school.
Eagle Eye
Elves are known to have excellent sight. They hit easier with melee weapons and extremely well with ranged weapons.
Watched by Nature
Wood-elves are watched over by Lumati, lord of nature, and whenever they are around Nature Magic zones their attributes increase.
