Introduction

History

Notable Dianari

  • Ruchi - Queen of the Dianari people.
  • Ferro - Captain of the Dianari hunters.

Appearance

In general the Dianari shares common features with the human species. The female have large eyes, small chins and nose, sharing the same features as newborn they tend to be referred to as cute. Males however have generally a more masculine appearance, with higher brows, wide jaws, and broad cheekbones. As with the Elven species the Dianari does not have any body hair, making their skin feel very clear and smooth, and the only place they grow hair are on their head. Instead they have thicker, leather-like skin to protect them from the cold. In general the Dianari are thought to be extremely physically attractive, unfortunately making them targets of slave-herders.

They have exclusively blue skin, with light hair colors in shades of pink, purple, blue or in some cases silvery white or grayish black. Black hair is more common among males, though in rare cases a female Dianari may also have black hair. Common eye colors amongst the Dianari are golden yellow, orange, forest green or violet. In some rare cases a Dianari is born with black or red eyes. It is considered a sign that the Dianari in question will be of importance to the history of their people, for good or bad. Another important cultural sign for the Dianari are facial makeup. These are almost always in the same color as their eyes and in some cases the makeup are replaced instead by tattoos.

Cultural Garments

An important female garment worn by the Dianari is the Wocho, a mantelet with high collar that ends just above the elbows. As the female are a lot shorter and considered weaker physically these are important protection for them, with great magical properties infused into every single one of them. While it is not uncommon for a female Dianari to wear the same Wocho throughout their lives for emotional reasons there are nothing that stops them from changing to a new one, though to stop using them is something no Dianari, unless raised somewhere else, would ever do no matter what.

The Dianari clothing are usually in colors matching their skin, like shades of white and gray or light purple, sometimes personalized to match their hair-color. Usual traits on the clothes are details in golden colors, Brass being the favored metal to use for ornaments. The very same metal is often used for jewelry, especially for head gowns, and are often matched with beads. Rubies are very sought after for their bright color and their fiery properties. Chieftains and other highly regarded Dianari often wears clothing in wine-red, a sign of status and warmth.

Relations

Faith

The Dianari worship several demi-gods, though none of them walks Lunatara and are all still in Arcadia. Unlike other races who often have a hard time believing in a god who can not aid their people in person, the Dianari have full faith in their gods and seeks their aid through rituals, sacrifices and gifts. Lately some Dianari have started worshiping Odin, though most of the time as a secondary deity or at least still worshiping their old gods.

Technological Status

As a nomadic people the Dianari have little to none advanced technology, relying purely on their wits and strength when in their natural environment. However the Dianari have a natural affinity for logical solutions and any Dianari that would explore the field of Engineering would surely become successful. The Dianari's own weapons and technology are mostly limited to simple hunting tools with slight adjustments for war, making the Dianari an easy target for any attackers with advanced technology.
